LEG 011 - Jan 2, 2022
Chesterfield to Westmoreland
Distance: 5.59 Time: 48:59
Another dreary, damp and foggy running day. Actually good running weather. Haley joined me for the mostly downhill leg. There was some rise mixed in, so not all flat.

We started off easy and then picked it up little by little as the downhills steepened and became more frequent. I felt an extra bounce in my step and at times was able to throw in some fartlek (increasing speed when car in distance coming toward us so we'd run single file). Wore my bright green today to be better seen. Expect this to be a common attire choice.

Scenic section running past/along Spoffard Lake. Most of the homes near the water looked deserted for the winter. Wonder what the story is with the rock on the rock just off shore?

This will be the easiest run for awhile. Enjoyed every step! Noticed that my heart rate was lower than most runs - averaging in 130s. Quite a difference from recent hilly runs where heart rate gets into 160s.

Random thoughts:
- found Fritz the frog right where I left him in Chesterfield on granite bench. Had lined up Beanie Baby frog as mascot backup. He stayed in the bag.
- I charted out a schedule table - at this pint if I average 1 run a week (which isn't very realistic) i won't finish the full 234 legs until April of 2026. Guess it'll depend on when I officially retire and on my health as to where the date truly falls. There's really no rush and I like the pace of shooting to run legs on the weekends with skipping weeks based on health / scheduling.
- went into aFib around 9pm with wave of tiredness setting in.
