LEG 003 - Nov 25, 2021

Rindge to Fitzwilliam

Leg003 - Rindge to Fitzwilliam – Nov 25, 2021 ... Length: 7.93 Miles  ... Time: 1:17:42

Today is a special run!  Haley surprised us coming home for Thanksgiving driving up from Philadelphia and we’re running this leg today together.  In the past we used to run the Derry Turkey Trot together on Thanksgiving and now that we’ve moved to Dublin that tradition is in the rear view mirror.

Nice brisk sunny morning - clouds filled in as we ran. One lesson learned from this run, do a better job of reviewing the elevation.  I had driven the route previously and it didn’t seem that hilly.  The beginning is all downhill on 119 and we coasted along.  We did start the run going through Rindge center (not really much of one) and then out to Route 119.  Not a very scenic run today.

But I digress - the second half of the run had a category 5 climb …. So much for my telling Haley “It’s downhill and relatively flat”.  Oh well, sorry about that - lesson learned.  The upside was that the run gave me confidence that I can handle longer runs with hills thrown in when the time comes.

What a great Thanksgiving treat running with Haley - I hope there are more opportunities to do this again in future legs.
